Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, in-person memorial events for Lusitania’s 105th sinking anniversary in Liverpool and at the Old Head of Kinsale are cancelled. However, these events are now online, and you will be able to view them from home.
Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum
The Merseyside Maritime Museum has uploaded a number of videos to their Facebook page, and I highly recommend watching them. Lately, they have produced a series of videos interviewing the descendants of those who were aboard Lusitania‘s last voyage, and you can see them here:

Below is a short excerpt of their film that will be virtual Act of Remembrance with the Liverpool Parish Church. Everyone is invited to hold a minute’s silence at 2:10pm British Summer Time as is traditionally done at the service.
Old Head of Kinsale Signal Tower
Usually, the Old Head of Kinsale Signal Tower commemorates the Lusitania sinking every 7th of May; this year they are making a video that will be shared online due to the pandemic. At about 2pm Irish Standard Time, the time at which the Lusitania was torpedoed, the Old Head of Kinsale Signal Tower will post a link on their Facebook page (preview below) to remember the passengers and crew of the Lusitania.

Site updates for 7 May 2020:
Just a few light updates here and there, mostly. I updated the forums and registration/login so that they are actually functional now.
There are also some new additions to the site as well, italics indicate survivor.
New accounts:
- William Rose, Second Waiter
New images:
- Annie Elliott
- Arthur Elliott
- Albert Bilicke
- Gladys Bilicke
- Lindon Bates
- Mary Hammond
- Charles Hill
- Virginia Loney
- Owen Kenan
- Kathleen Kaye
I’ll be parceling out little updates here and there, as that’s a much more sustainable way to run a website than going hard all at once.
Take care everybody and stay healthy!
