Matthew Backa, 28, of Saskatchewan, Canada was a Russian citizen returning to his homeland. He survived the Lusitania sinking. After he returned to Russia he was never heard from again. It is not known if he was lost in the Great War, the following Russian Revolution, or the famine of the early 1920s.
His name appeared on the survivors list as Matthew BABKA.
