Emma Harris, 61, was traveling aboard Lusitania with her husband Reuben. They would be visiting their daughter, Mrs. Taylor of 116, Long-lane, Halesowen, England. Mr. and Mrs. Harris had cabled their daughter on Sunday, 2 May 1915, that they would be traveling aboard Lusitania. Both Rueben and Emma were lost in the Lusitania sinking.
Emma and Reuben were British subjects originally from Halesowen, but his work as a contractor had taken Reuben, and Emma with him, to Calgary, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario, in Canada.
