This May 7th marks the 99th anniversary of the Lusitania sinking, and this July will also mark the World War I centennial. Lots of plans are afoot for next year’s Lusitania centennial, which I’ve titled “Lusitania 2015,” time permitting. I would’ve loved to have filled in more biographies by now, but the craziness of life has prevented me from being more active in updating the site. But of course, comments and emails are always welcome, and I hope that this site continues to build community among family members and researchers.

I’d love to hear about the plans for the centennial as I plan for our family to be there to commemorate my grandfather’s survival.

I am working with Chesterfield Youth Theatre on a play that contains two scenes about the sinking of the Lusitania.
My wife and I are planning to attend the centennial memorial as a tribute to my grandfather and Mr. R.T. Moodie.
Our GG grand uncle John Toal (spelt Toole on the survivors list ) was on the Empress of Ireland in 1914 when it sank in the US, he survived (this is documented) he died the following year on the Lusitania! He was a Firman! RIP
