Lifeboat 13 was launched from the starboard side by First Officer Arthur Rowland Jones and Senior Third Officer John Idwal Lewis. Lifeboat 13 had about 70 occupants, of which 20 are known. The lifeboat was picked up by the government boat Stormcock.
