Lifeboat 11 was launched from the starboard side by Senior Third Officer John Idwal Lewis. Lifeboat 11 had upset once early in the sinking and was reloaded and launched safely the second time. Lifeboat 11 had at least 7 known occupants and picked up even more from the water.
