Does anyone have details of crew for earlier sailings?
My Grandfather, George James Dougal, was meant to have been a Steward on the Lusitania but missed its last sailing.
He was born in Bristol 1867 and sometime around 1890 emigrated to USA, working as a waiter either in hotels or on ships.
Believed to have joined Lusitania around 1910 but following the sinking came back to England and signed up for army, lying about his age.
After the war he settled in Malvern and had a family.
Am trying to find out whether it was true that he should have been on board the Lusitania – can anyone help please?

Peter, did you have any success? I have a similar puzzle: My father-in-law’s grt grandfather Thomas Delahunty is thought to have worked on the Lusitania as late as 1915 aged about 58, and we have a photo of him and what is thought to be his sons on the deck of the ship, but he wasn’t aboard on the fateful final voyage.

Would anyone know where we could check if and when he worked on the ship?
