Hey everybody! I’ve been working on a number of projects at the same time, hence quiet months here. Stuff is happening, though when is still up in the air.
98 years ago, on 1 May 1915, Lusitania sailed out of New York Harbor and into history. Below is a painting I did several years ago. I’d like to think that my painting skills have improved markedly since then. Unlike my other Lusitania works, this one is not technically accurate in the placement of structural supports, ventilators, and portholes/windows, etc.

Just to let you know the Liverpool Maritime museum is holding its annual memorial service at 1.30 Tue 7th May at the Lusitania propellor. I am from Liverpool and two of my family were on the ship.
I will be attending as I have done in previous years.
I also have some things regarding my great uncle George Wynne who survived the disaster (His father, Joseph who was My Great Grandfather, sadly went down with the ship) The museum is planning a major event for the hundredth anniversary in 2015 and as so many of the crew were from the city it has advertised in the local press for anything of interest which they can use.
I have written a novel around the story of the Lusitania and I hope to have it published eventually.

The book still has to be proof read as it is just the way I have typed it at the minute. I didnt realise the price of proof reading was so expensive.
I have had a few nice comments from the dozen or so people that have read it so far but the majority of them are people I know so I realise I might not be getting a proper evaluation.
I have somebody designing a cover for me at the moment and I have been advised to write to publishers although I might do it myself (Amazon) and I will take it from there.
I am only sorry my interest in the Lusitania didnt really begin until the last four or five years.
I didnt realise the significance of my uncle being on board until it was too late. I met him quite a few times when I was younger. When I think of the first hand account I could of had I could go mad!

I have been an artist all my life, and received a Masters Degree in Painting and though I am only “famous” in my small circle of friends and family, and I studied the great art works, I have always loved what some would call “primitive art”. Those that were not trained to the upmost still have a desire to get involved in the wonder and joy of rendering something from nature onto the 2d surface. This painting I think is wonderful and so colorful and grand and filling the whole canvas as grand as the ship itself. What I really like is the joyfulness of the vessel unlike any image I have seen before. Most only see the black and white out of focus photo’s of a hulking metal sea vessel. This painting is playful and would have been a great encourager in some poster for a passage on it and would have had me signing aboard. I love it!
