Dear Mrs. Prichard,
Am afraid you are thinking I have not rec[eive]d y[ou]r letter asking for information about you[r] dear Son & I can assure you, you have my deepest sympathy in your sorrow. I know what I feel losing m[y] dear sister but mes [my?] son is terrible I have three. So [I] know what y[ou]r feelings are. Well directly read y[ou]r letter I wrote at once to Mr Frost & he answered as soon as he could. but it takes a while out [?] here he was travelling and my letter chasing him round. He replied he was sorry very he could not give me any information he did not remember seeing y[ou]r son. When the end came after doing all he could, Frost slipped off into the water & floated until he was picked up. He kindly gave me the addresses of 2 survivors & told me to mention his name they may be able to help. So instantly wrote to one & enclosed the paper of description which Mr. Frost had returned & up till today I have not had a reply. That is what I have been mailing for and felt you must be so anxious I would not wait any longer. I could only write to me an account of sending the description but have the other letter written waiting for the reply to my first letter which I posted to him Friday Dec 17th & then[?] was to Saskatoon, about 2 days postage from here. So I fear he must have left but I have not had the letter returned this dead letter office, but I can assure you if I hear I will then write to the other gentleman & on hearing from him will write you results. This is all I can do. I deeply regret I have not any good news for you. I am sending this to a sister at Southsea to post as the stamp your kindly put on is no use out here. With kind regards & deep sympathy
