Mr. Harold James Slight, Distressed British Seaman

Harold James Slight (1883 – 1915), 32, third class passenger, was born on 3 May 1883 in Trinity Square, Southwark, London, England, United Kingdom. He had a sister named Ada. Harold was married to Mabel Herring. Slight was lost in the Lusitania sinking.

He was returning aboard Lusitania as a Distressed British Seaman, British sailors who are without a berth (for instance, if their ship had been sunk), without funds, or in ill health and need to return home. Slight was listed as being from the Shenandoah, which is presumably this ship.

  1. That has solved a mystery, as i could not find him on the crew list or passenger list, he was obviously travelling in a coffin as he was already sadly deceased. I was his great niece. My mum was a Slight before she married, her dad was the brother of Harold James Slight. I would love to hear from any other relations, to help me fill in the gaps of my family tree. Please email me. alison.poochie@hotmail.co.uk . Thank you Alison . P.s Budgie is my pet bird , I see this link whilst updating his Facebook.
