Hannah Cunniffe, 30, was traveling aboard Lusitania with her cousin Delia Kilkenny. Hannah was lost in the disaster. Delia was saved. Both women were from Arghamore, Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland. Hannah and Delia were neighbors, although in the United States, Hannah lived in New York City and Delia lived in Boston, Massachusetts.
When the Lusitania was sinking, Delia entered a lifeboat. Hannah was about to join her but decided to go back for some personal belongings. Delia never saw Hannah again. Hannah’s body was either not recovered or not identified.
