William Egan served on board the last voyage of the Lusitania as Boatswain’s Mate in the Deck Department.
He survived the sinking and gave evidence at the official enquiry conducted into the sinking, chaired by Lord Mersey, in June and July 1915.
A photograph of him and five other crew member survivors appeared in the British press at the time.
