Mr. Edward Kyle (T. Robins), Able-Bodied Seaman

Edward Kyle (1871 – 1915), 44, was an able seaman in the deck department of the Lusitania on the ship’s last voyage. Kyle was lost when the ship was torpedoed and sunk on 7 May 1915.

Kyle was born in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, on the 12 April 1871, the son of Edward and Agnes Kyle of 31, Thames Street, Toxteth, Liverpool, Lancashire.  He was unmarried.

For some reason, he served aboard Lusitania under the name of T. Robins.  His body was not one of those recovered and identified afterwards. As a consequence, he is commemorated on the Mercantile Marine Memorial at Tower Hill, London.
